BIOGRAPHY
Born in South Carolina, Mary-Louise Parker spent her childhood traveling, her father being a judge in the American army. After studying drama, she made her notable debut on stage in a play by Craig Lucas , “Prelude to a Kiss”, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award in 1990. The director also directed her in his film A Longtime Companion . But it was the following year that the actress landed her first real film role, alongside Kathy Bates and Jessica Tandy in Green Tomato Fritters .
While continuing to play in the theater, Mary-Louise Parker continued filming. She moves easily from thriller ( The Client ) to dramatic comedy ( With or Without Men ). In 2001, she joined the cast of At the White House . The actress made her mark as a feminist lobbyist, a role she took on for around twenty episodes until 2006. At the same time, she was the wife of Edward Norton confronted with a serial killer in Dragon Rouge and participated in Angels in America , an HBO mini-series where she impresses as a Mormon woman addicted to painkillers.
In 2005, Mary-Louise Parker was cast as Nancy Botwin in Weeds . The series was critically acclaimed, and the actress won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of a single mother selling marijuana to support her family. His success on television does not prevent him from continuing in the cinema.
