BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1987, Sand Van Roy is an actress represented by Bohemia Group Los Angeles. She practices stand-up in New York, Amsterdam and France, which allows her, among other things, to provide opening acts for famous comedians like Mathieu Madénian and especially Gad Elmaleh .

On the cinema side, Sand Van Roy stands out in several short films and obtains two small roles in Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) and in Taxi 5 (2018) produced by EuropaCorp. In the latter, the actress plays Malik Bentalha ‘s girlfriend . At the same time, she is also active on television, as her appearances in the series What’s Up France?, Genius and Virgin demonstrate.

On May 18, 2018, Sand Van Roy claimed to have been abused by Luc Besson during a meeting at the Bristol, a Parisian palace located near the Champs-Élysées. The French director firmly denies the accusations of the young woman, who worked as an actress and screenwriter on several EuropaCorp projects. Two months later, the actress denounced other rapes and sexual assaults carried out by Luc Besson, of whom she said she had been under the influence for two years. These complaints were dismissed in February 2019 by the Paris prosecutor’s office.

Very involved in the denunciation of sexual violence, Sand Van Roy regularly provides her support on social networks to the victims and reaffirms her fight during the rise of the steps of the Cannes Film Festival, where she sports a temporary tattoo “Stop violence Against Woman”.

She filed a complaint with the constitution of a civil party and obtained the opening of a judicial investigation in October 2019 for rape. Luc Besson was placed in January 2021, after a long hearing, under the status of assisted witness. On December 9, after more than three and a half years of proceedings, an investigating judge at the Paris judicial court dismissed the case in favor of the director.
