The former partner of a mother who has been missing for two months has been arrested for murder after police discovered human remains at the location where she was last seen

More than two months after Madeline Kingsbury disappeared, the police have apprehended her ex-boyfriend and the father of her children on suspicions of murder following the finding of human remains.

Adam Fravel, aged 29, was arrested for second-degree murder charges on Wednesday night, June 7. This occurred weeks after he adamantly denied any involvement in her disappearance, as per the authorities.

Rebecca Jacobson, Kingsbury’s aunt, informed Fox News Digital that the family is hopeful that the right suspect is in custody, and they hold out hope for finding Madeline.

The police discovered human remains in some bushes off Highway 43, north of Mabel, Minnesota, approximately 45 miles south of where Kingsbury was last spotted.

The Winona Police Department stated that the body was located using information obtained during the investigation, leading to the arrest of Adam Fravel in connection to her disappearance.

The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office is currently working to confirm whether the discovered remains belong to Kingsbury.

Kingsbury, a 26-year-old woman from Minnesota, went missing on March 31 after leaving her two children, aged 5 and 2, at their daycare in Winona with Fravel.

Her disappearance was described as “involuntary and suspicious” by the police.

Fravel informed the authorities that he left their residence at 10 a.m., and Kingsbury was not there upon his return. However, her phone, wallet, and jacket were found. He was reportedly the last person to see her alive.

The authorities mentioned that they have executed “numerous search warrants” as over 2,000 people have volunteered to aid in finding the missing mother since the search began.

Last month, a special prosecutor, Phil Prokopowicz, who is the former chief deputy attorney in Dakota County, came out of retirement to assist with the case.

Kingsbury’s family is currently embroiled in a custody dispute over the children with Fravel, who filed for custody after her disappearance.

The children are presently residing with Kingsbury’s parents, although they are legally under the custody of Winona County.

Kingsbury’s sister, Megan, previously stated that Fravel and his family remained uncommunicative despite their efforts to reach out to them.

At the time of Kingsbury’s disappearance, she and Fravel were no longer romantically involved.
