Rapper Fetty Wap sentenced to 6 years in prison for drug trafficking

Rapper Fetty Wap has been sentenced to six years in prison for his involvement in a large-scale drug trafficking scheme. He was convicted of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and apologized in the courtroom, expressing regret for the pain he had caused. The judge commented on his wasted potential, stating that despite overcoming hardships, he had thrown it all away. In addition to the prison term, he was given five years of post-release supervision. Prosecutors had sought a longer sentence, accusing him of glorifying the drug trade with his fame and influence. They highlighted his past lyrics and music videos that depicted drug-related activities. The prosecution stated that the drug organization distributed large quantities of narcotics across Long Island and New Jersey. Investigators recovered a significant amount of cash, drugs, firearms, and ammunition during the investigation. In connection with the conspiracy, six people were charged, with some already pleading guilty and awaiting sentencing.
