BIOGRAPHY
Luke Perry was an American actor who was known for two or more generations due to his famous characters in series such as Beverly Hills 90210 during the 1990s and the current youth series Riverdale (2017-). During high school he was the team mascot, Freddy, at Fredericktown High School. His enormous interest in acting made him move to Los Angeles to find an opportunity. His first television role was in the series Voyagers! During 1982, however, little by little he began to shape himself for new and more fruitful characters. Regarding occasional appearances within the industry, Luke appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 1992 and a year later in The Simpsons as himself. Lending his voice, he also participated in the animated series The Motorrats of Mars (1993-1996), Mortal Kombat (1995-1996) and The Incredible Hulk (1996-1998).
He simultaneously worked on Beverly Hills 90210 playing the mythical and beloved Dylan McKay, who was a young man who seemed to be the bad boy who fell in love with Brenda, the protagonist of the series. In 1993 he married Rachel Minnie Sharp and, although they separated 10 years later, they had two children: Sophie and Jack, the latter later becoming a professional wrestler. Although he remained quite active in the industry after his departure from Beverly Hills, the projects for which new generations know him is Riverdale , where he plays the father of the protagonist Archie. In addition, Luke had an important appearance in Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood (2019), a long-awaited film by director Quentin Tarantino. Luke Perry suffered a stroke on February 27, 2019, for which he was rushed to a hospital. Due to complications, the actor died on March 4 of the same year.
