The long-running series "Happy Days" reflected this nostalgic zeitgeist more than any other American television show of the 1970s. Fonzie, the leather-jacketed, catchphrase-spewing character played by Henry Winkler, is now firmly engraved on the American psyche. The fresh-faced pranks of Ron Howard's character Richie Cunningham, as well as his wise-guy cronies Potsie and Ralph Malph, harken back to a time of drive-ins, letter jackets, and Bill Haley & His Comets' rockin' melodies.

Ron Howard
Ron Howard, the most successful (and wealthiest) member of the Happy Days cast, is still alive and well at the age of 68. Howard has gone on to have a successful career as a film director because of his portrayal of the shy yet moral and bright Richie Cunningham. He is best known for directing A Beautiful Mind, which earned four Academy Awards, including Best Director for Howard. He has also directed films such as Apollo 13, Frost/Nixon, and The Da Vinci Code.

Henry Winkler
Henry Winkler was the trendiest person in town as The Fonz. He had a slew of beautiful women gushing over him at the click of his fingers, but Richie's soft and polite attitude toward women countered his macho demeanor. Winkler is now 76 years old and has been in several films and television shows. He may presently be featured in the dark comedy Barry alongside Bill Hader.

Marion Ross
Marion Ross was unforgettable as Marion Cunningham, the lovely mother on Happy Days. Ross' character was a forerunner of sorts to the contemporary "cool mom" cliche that dominates television, always embracing the frequently broody and anarchic Fonzie into her home with open arms. The actress is currently retired, having worked as a voice actress in the 1990s on shows such as Spongebob Squarepants and King of the Hill. She will turn 94 in October.

Anson Williams
Anson Williams (shown second from right) played Richie's pal Potsie, who brilliantly embodied the character's witty but charming nature. Williams, now 72, lives a quiet life far removed from his Happy Days celebrity. Williams sued CBS along with late co-stars Erin Moran and Tom Bosley, as well as Marion Ross and on-screen BFF Don Most, as a reflection of his diminishing stardom. The performers claimed that the broadcaster had failed to pay them royalties, and the matter was eventually settled for $65,000 per cast member.

Don Most
A big element of Happy Days' popularity was Ralph and Potsie's charming relationship. These two were serious BFFs long before the phrase "bromance" entered the public vernacular. Don Most (shown bottom left), who played Ralph, is now 68 years old and chooses to focus on his job as a swing pianist over acting. As previously stated, Most, along with his co-star and on-screen best friend Anson Williams, sued CBS for royalties.

Scott Baio
Scott Baio played Chachi, Joanie's hapless boyfriend, on Happy Days, a character he returned in the ill-fated spinoff Joanie Loves Chachi. The 60-year-old has reinvented himself as a Trump-supporting alt-right Republican. Following that, he and his wife made some really questionable remarks about school shootings. In an emotional Tweet, his former co-star Ron Howard referred to Trump as "a self-serving, dishonest, morally bankrupt egomaniac who doesn't care about anything or anyone but his Fame & cash account & is hustling the US."

Lynda Goodfriend
Lori Beth, Richie's girlfriend and then wife, was played by Lynda Goodfriend on Happy Days. Goodfriend retired from acting at the age of 68. Instead of appearing in front of the camera, she serves as the chair of the New York Film Academy's acting department, where she transmits her knowledge to aspiring actors.

Roz Kelly
Roz Kelly was best known for playing Pinky Tuscadero, Fonzie's girlfriend, in some of the most ridiculous Happy Days plots. Her character was particularly prominent in the season 4 three-part arc "Fonzie Loves Pinky," in which she was gravely injured during a demolition derby. The 79-year-old has mostly moved on from her acting days, although she has been involved in a number of legal troubles in recent years.

Suzi Quatro
Unfortunately, the show's other, less fortunate supporting characters slipped into obscurity. Suzi Quatro, who played the one and only Leather Tuscadero, the sister of Pinky Tuscadero, gave the Fonz a run for his money in her leather-clad ensembles, was not one of them. Quatro, who is 71 years old and lives in a beautiful manor house in the United Kingdom, has had a successful career as a rock musician.

Happy Days Cast Who Died
Tom Bosley
Howard Cunningham was the patriarch of the "Happy Days" family. In the midst of commotion, the down-to-earth, diligent hardware shop owner could always be counted on to keep his cool. Tom Bosley, who was best known at the time as a Tony-winning Broadway star (for "Fiorello!") and a major player in films like "Yours, Mine, and Ours," played Howard Cunningham. Bosley died of lung cancer in 2010. His former co-stars fondly remembered the man they considered a family member.

Erin Moran
Joanie Cunningham, Richie's younger sister, was played by Erin Moran, a child star. Joanie grew up and became more significant in the plots during the course of the show's decade-long existence. Moran's private life was far from idyllic. She featured on a few other TV shows after "Happy Days" ended, but she struggled with melancholy, which prevented her from finding stable work. Moran was discovered deceased by first responders in April 2017. Shortly after, it was discovered that the actress had been diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer, rendering her speechless. Only close pals, including her former co-star Anson Williams, knew about it.

Pat Morita
Noriyuki Morita played Arnold Takahashi, the owner of Arnold's Drive-In, under the stage name "Pat." Morita appeared in a number of films and television shows ("Mulan," "Robot Chicken"), but his possibilities were limited due to the absence of Asian presence in Hollywood. Unfortunately, his drunkenness followed suit. A documentary named "More Than Miyagi: The Pat Morita Story" chronicled the actor's hardships and final death from liver failure in 2005.

Al Molinaro
During his "Happy Days" years, Al Molinaro obtained a promotion of sorts. Molinaro first appeared as a cook at Arnold's Drive-In during the show's second season, and then took over as the diner's owner from Pat Morita in Season 4. He died in 2015 at the age of 96 due to complications from gallstones.

Robin Williams
Even die-hard "Happy Days'' fans must agree that not every episode was a hit. To keep the audience interested, the writers sometimes resorted to absurd scenarios, such as the famed sequence in which Fonzie soars on waterskis above a hazardous marine creature. This apparent gimmickry in TV shows is still referred to as "jumping the shark" today (via Rolling Stone). Unfortunately, the actor was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in his forties, which had a significant impact on both his mind and body. At the age of 63, he committed suicide.
