BIOGRAPHY
Born in Baghdad, Dar Salim fled to Denmark with his family when he was six years old. After high school, he worked as a tourist guide and did his mandatory military service. Passionate about theater, he played in several plays and went to New York to join the William Esper Studio. Then, he moved to London and took lessons alongside actress Sarah Boberg . At the same time, he went to castings.

Dar found his first roles in the 2000s, appearing furtively in films and series. In 2010, he starred under the direction of Thomas Vinterberg in the drama Submarino , based on a successful novel by the young Danish writer Jonas T. Bengtsson . He continued, still through supporting roles, with Nothing’s All Bad , The Devil’s Double and the noted gangster film Hijacking .

At the same time, Dar Salim was chosen to join the cast of the first season of the phenomenon series Game of Thrones . He portrays a formidable warrior protecting Khal Drogo and who is killed by Jorah Mormont. This performance, even if it is relatively short, leaves a lasting impression. Gaining notoriety, Dar appears in Exodus: Gods And Kings , A War , Walk with Me , Lommbock and Loving Adults .

On the series side, the actor plays the Minister of Climate and Energy in the series Borgen, a woman in power (2013 – 2016). He also plays one of the regular characters in Dicte , where a woman returning to her hometown with her daughter is hired as a crime reporter. More active on the small side, he plays significant protagonists in Jerks , Spring Tide and Agent .

In 2023, Dar Salim slips into the shoes of one of the two main characters in the war film directed by Guy Ritchie The Covenant broadcast on the famous streaming platform Amazon Prime. The Baghdad native portrays an Afghan soldier in the service of the American army who will do everything to save the life of his military leader Jake Gyllenhaal after an ambush and a manhunt.
